Candidate will work in the Strategic Technical Resources (STR) group
within the Product Applications
Department (PAD) to deliver ingredient cost savings, address supply
issues and to develop new materials
for frozen food application work. Candidate will work closely with
Purchasing, Marketing, Industrial
Performance, Quality Management, Production facilities and other PAD
groups to execute projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Ingredient expert in Product Applications Department (PAD)
' Work with PAD Technologists on renovations/innovation projects;
' Act as key contact between Nestle' Prepared Food Company and ingredient
vendors.
' Originate, plan and execute scientific test work
' Manage and implement cost savings projects in assigned ingredient
areas.
' Plan, conduct and evaluate necessary test work to meet timelines
' Partner with Purchasing to define and evaluate areas of cost savings
opportunity
' Develop and present innovative ideas/concepts to PAD, Purchasing, and
Marketing
' Encourage the application of new and improved methodologies where
appropriate; evaluate opportunities
of emerging technologies/equipment
' Assist in the development of ingredient specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
' B.S. or M.S. Food Science is required
' 3.5 years experience (Food Technology)
' Chemistry or cereal science is a plus
' Formulation expertise, especially use of starches/gums and sauce
formulation experience a plus.
' Working knowledge of ingredient suppliers and capabilities
' Working knowledge of ingredient categories and specifications.
' Able to apply technical ingredient knowledge to prepared meal
formulations
' Experience with food processing equipment in Pilot Plant and Production
settings
' Excellent project management, leadership, and
communication skills
