Food Safety Specialist 

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the food safety and sanitation procedures for retail food service (franchise) locations.
  • Follow up on complaints.
  • Handle inspections of manufacturing and retail operations for compliance of regulations, policies and sanitary conditions.
  • Work with various enforcement agencies throughout the nation to maintain compliance within the corporation.
  • Assist other departments for technical issues dealing with regulatory compliance.
  • Develop training programs, write and modify HACCP plans, and modify procedures to meet changes in the Food Code, as well as state and local regulations as necessary.
  • Knowlegeable in food safety and sanitation, and microbial testing/analysis.

 

Position Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Biology, Nutrition, Food Science, or Environmental Health with courses taken in food protection, or Microbiology.
  • Strong knowledge in food safety is required, FDA Food Code, and 21CFR123 is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.  
  • HACCP & ServSafe Certification is a plus. 
  • The ability to communicate in Burmese is preferred but not required. 
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.
