Description
Food Technologist
Leading food processor is
seeking a Food Technologist to develop new products, primarily in the
category of ready to eat processed meat.
- This is a hands-on post and
requires an understanding of meat raw materials, processing
techniques, and how the two merge to deliver desired finished
products.
- Will assist in
establishing process at the pilot plant level and on through
implementation.
- Required skill sets include
formula and process development, product costing, and shelf life
validation; the use of existing and novel processes through all states
of development to deliver new products and concepts that are different
from existing plant capabilities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS or MS in Food Science or
related field along with 1-4 years of experience; Understanding of
meat chemistry, meat microbiology, and packaging science,
refrigerated, ready to eat processed meat; Familiarity with USDA
requirements involving meat labeling.
Salary: $30s-$40s +
Bonus.
