Food Microbiologist / Food Safety Scientist - Baton Rouge, LA




Key Focus:
To design and carry out experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of biocides against food borne bacteria


Developing efficacy data which leads to the development of new biocides and methods of treatment for a variety of food products


Maintenance and operation of all aspects of an industrial microbiological lab
The design of efficacy studies and analysis of resulting data


Experience Requirements:
Ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10 years "hands on" experience in a similar role
Hands-on work experience in a microbiological lab
Micro lab experience in the food industry


Experience desired but not required:
Working knowledge of AACP/USDA/FDA regulation as applied to the food industry
Work experience with pathogenic bacteria relevant to the food safety


Education Requirements:
Minimum BA/BS degree in biology or related science degree
MS or higher degree preferred with research experience at the cellular level
