VICE PRESIDENT QUALITY ASSURANCE -FOOD INDUSTRY LEADER GREAT
of the category leaders in the food industry with over $1B in sales and
growing consistently seeks a VP - QA and Food Safety for a
facility with rapidly expanding production capacity and demand.
Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance will provide strategic
direction for Company-wide Product Quality Programs and Food Safety
Systems. You will work directly with Operations management to assure
implementation and adherence to these programs and systems. Work in
conjunction with R&D, Purchasing, Logistics and other departments to
provide equivalent guidance throughout our Food Supply Chain system.
Be a resource to Sales organization, providing support with Customer
requirements, communications and resolution of issues.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development and implementation of a complete Quality Control and Food
Safety process throughout the company.
Development of a robust microbiological testing program for all locations
that ensures product safety for our consumers, complies fully with all
regulatory expectations, and positions the Company as a leader in this area
within the industry.
Responsible for the activities and performance of the Corporate Quality
Assurance & Food Safety personnel.
Provide functional guidance to Plant Management and Plant Quality Assurance
Management of internal audit program for manufacturing plants, co-pack
manufacturers, ingredient and packaging suppliers, and distribution
Coordination of mock recalls for all manufacturing locations, co-pack
manufacturing locations, warehouse and
Oversight of Customer and Consumer complaint response network, including
product litigation claims.
Networking with industry organizations to provide additional Company
resources and to stay ahead of changes within the regulatory agencies and
Development of working relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies
and work as senior liaison in regards to Food Safety and Quality matters.
Development of metrics and benchmarking for Company QA & FS performance
through interaction with industry peers.
Standardize product quality evaluation procedures to maintain gold standard
quality levels in flavor, texture, appearance and taste. Establish
regular reviews at all plant locations and create a global Corporate review
process in conjunction with R&D, Sales and Marketing.
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
Graduate degree preferred.
15+ years of industry experience in Food Manufacturing or related
field. Preference is have specific experience with USDA
manufacturing. 5+ years of this overall experience in a managerial or
Broad business experience to include budget and cost management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to
communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including
senior management, along with Customers, Consumers and Regulatory
Strong leadership skills with the ability to plan and execute activities
self-directed. Ability to provide guidance to subordinates to manage
Proficient in basic computer software, such as what is found in Microsoft
