Kellogg’s has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Food Technologist with the Global Snacks R&D group (Global Crackers), located in Battle Creek Michigan. The Associate Food Technologist supports large and leads minor food process technology projects and programs including scale-up and introduction of new Kellogg products and product quality improvements in Kellogg's manufacturing sites worldwide. The Food technologist leverages his/her breadth of knowledge to create new processes and/or improve existing processes or operating procedures that results in a competitive advantage for the company.

Principal Responsibilities:

  Develops, organizes, manages, and coordinates important projects while increasing the incumbent’s level of understanding of project executions, processes, and methods, as well as giving general direction to assigned cross-functional teams in accomplishing projects on scientific and technical investigation or developments.

  Keeps current with the latest developments and technology through investigation, training, and communication within that discipline.

  Exhibits innovation in discovery, evaluation, and advancement of new technologies in the area of food/process research and development, which can have a significant impact on new products and/or processes, improved products and/or processes, and capital spending avoidance.

  Provide innovative, timely, and cost effective concepts, developments, improvements, or scientific insight and understanding, with respect to new or existing products or processes.

  Travel 30-75%+

Job Requirements

BS Degree in Food Engineering or Technology, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, or related discipline and at least 1 year of experience OR a high school diploma and at least 10 years industrial experience required.

Ability to travel 30-75%+

MS Degree in Food Engineering or Technology, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, or related discipline and at least 6 months experience is preferred.

  Proven track record of leadership, business acumen, communication skills, and diplomacy that will promote good relations with all facets of corporate management and other scientific/technical disciplines, in the effective execution of projects to accomplish corporate objectives with demanding schedules.
