Food
Safety Manager (Warehouse & Transportation)
· Assist
the WT Manager of Food Safety in those activities which apply to the scope
of this position
· Provide
support in the development of HACCP or HACCP based programs as needed or
directed
· Assist
in organizing and conducting the completion of all HACCP based food safety
audits of warehouses, transportation operations, distribution centers -
This includes maintaining data and analyzing statistics to spot variances
and trends that need attention
· Provide
assistance in and conduct inspections of warehouses, transportation
operations, distribution centers and / or new constructions for compliance
to food safety planning and design criteria and maintain knowledge of NSF
requirements for this activity
· Provide
support and assist in resolving regulatory compliance issues at warehouses,
transportation operations, and distribution center level as directed. Work
with Manager to maintain strong interface with local regulators to be in
front of changes that would impact H-E-B,
· Instructs
and administers the Certified Food Manager (CFM) training program to
include record keeping and files.
· Attend
and present at Departmental and Regional Meetings
· Provide
support in investigations of complaints to protect H-E-B ‘s liability and
avoid negative customer perception as directed
· Provide
input on food safety issues to other team members and act on top priorities
and projects as directed
· Act
in support functions in the absence of available Partner in times of crisis
· Maintain
professional accreditation’s as required by the position to include ASQ
related certifications, QMS training and working knowledge of these
certifications that can be shared via training and coaching.
· Complete
all required administrative reports accurately on time
· Active
participation in Departmental and Regional Meetings
· Assist
the Manager in acting as the WT food safety liaison to state and local
level regulatory agencies as well as assisting in the identification of
areas where these needs exist in local, state and federal levels related to
warehouse / transportation / distribution needs.
· Assist
Analytical Services in the administration and compliance of company recalls
as directed, with focus on 100% compliance on Class I recalls
· Provide
assistance with interface with local regulators as directed to be in front
of changes that would impact H-E-B WT areas
· Assist
with regulatory compliance issues at warehouse, transportation,
distribution level as the need arises and as directed
· Provide
food safety consulting and training to the senior regional leadership in
warehouses, transportation operations, distribution centers as requested.
· Provides
support in the administration of the CFM training program to include
maintenance of training certification as an approved course instructor
· Provides
oversight of compliance to sanitation standard operational procedures for
retail warehouses, transportation operations, distribution centers to
include revision and updates as necessary
Experience and Education
· Bachelor’s
Degree (Food Science, or related field) required; Bilingual (English and
Spanish)-Preferred
· Certification
or licensing as a Registered Sanitarian or equivalent required
· Certified
Quality Auditor, HACCP from ASQ required to include HACCP certification in
food best practices
· Competent
to work independently within area of expertise
· Ability
to assist with a variety of compliance situations and provide assistance in
the implementation of continuous improvement
· Able
to work in a team environment

and follows all safety requirements and strives to maintain a safe work
environment
· Knowledge
