Summary The
Food Safety and Quality Intern will develop an understanding of Martin’s
Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc’s food and safety
programs by spending time in each discipline; Food Safety, Inspections,
Quality Control procedures and Sanitation. Preferred
Qualifications Currently
attending accredited institution majoring in Food Science, Chemistry or
Microbiology. Ability
to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability
to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability
to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
to other employees of the organization. Knowledge
of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must
occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Ability
to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram,
or schedule form. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus. The
employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; talk or hear and taste or smell. The
employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The
employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While
performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet
and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne
particles. The
employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic
chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and
vibration. Note:
