Primary Function

The Food Technologist in our Global Dairy Applications group will be responsible for supporting global and regional projects and project teams as well as customer engagements. The Technologist will support development of new ingredients from concept to commercialization. The Technologist will participate in multidisciplinary teams and provide dairy support and expertise. This role will enable exposure and collaboration opportunities within the global organization to regional teams from Europe, Asia, South America, etc.

Key Deliverables

Business

         Use dairy science/food science and food engineering principles to support dairy projects. Support the development and commercialization of starch based ingredients for dairy applications.

         Execute research projects, plan work packages as part of project work, write reports and present findings to teams.

Agility and Innovation

         Monitor starch, dairy and food science literature and bring new ideas.

         Develop an understanding of patent and trade literature in dairy and starch based ingredients.

Relationships

and People

         Collaborate with several functional teams including technical and marketing functions and support multifunctional product development teams.

         Develop presentations and present to various internal and if necessary external team.

Knowledge, Skills,

and Requirements:

         BSc/MS in food science/engineering or a related field with 0-2 or more years of relevant work experience desired. Strong dairy and food science background desired.

         Knowledge in dairy manufacturing and product development.

         Knowledge of functional ingredients relevant to dairy segment.

         Strong experimental and measurement skills.

         Must have excellent communications skills outstanding verbal & written skills as customer presentations and technical publications are a requirement.

         Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines

         Approximately 5 to 10 % travel to customers, technical/trade conferences, and other Ingredion locations will be required.
