The Senior Scientist I will conduct sensory and consumer research in support of product development, processing and packaging research initiatives. Scientist will work with the technical community, business team and vendors to design and conduct appropriate research to advance knowledge of the product and meet the business objectives.

Specifically, the Senior Scientist I, Sensory & Consumer Sciences will determine appropriate research methodologies, coordinate tests, analyze and interpret experimental data and provide technical recommendations, reporting results orally and in written documentation.

Job Requirements

 

MS: Major in Food Science (thesis in Sensory), Sensory Science,  Experimental Psychology, or statistics with a minimum of 2 years experience in a Sensory & Consumer Research position in a major consumer packaged goods company.
Working knowledge of discrimination, descriptive and consumer test methods
Experience in qualifying and training descriptive panels
Training and experience applying experimental design and statistics to sensory research
Ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to interpret data and relate impact on the business
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated passion, flexibility and excitement
Working knowledge of statistical analysis programs(i.e. SPSS, SAS)
Experience in consumer research methods for new products, especially in the area of Fuzzy Front End/Qualitative methods, a plus
