Statement of Purpose

This position is responsible and accountable for leading all Bob Evans Farms, Inc. Food Products plant operations, including product manufacturing and processing operations and required support activities at plants. Establishes and leads the strategic direction of the Food Products Operations group while conferring with various peer groups to drive overall profitability.

Accountabilities
1. Establishes strategic vision for all manufacturing activities throughout plants.
2. Establishes production and manufacturing methods and measures to ensure high quality and low cost processes are used.
3. Provides overall direction in the area of Lean manufacturing, process improvement, continuous improvement and Six Sigma philosophies in an attempt to drive bottom line productivity and efficiency enhancements.
4. Partners with Food Safety/Quality Assurance department to ensure all internal and third party resources are maintaining best in class standards and processes.
5. Confers with subject matter experts and subsequently leads the execution of operating and manufacturing standards and goals on a plant by plant basis in support of the company business plan.
6. Reviews and evaluates efficiencies and P&L and takes action as necessary to address opportunities.
7. Leverages best practices in the area of effective customer service and relations by developing and implementing processes to deliver quality products on time.
8. Assures compliance of plants’ operations with company policy, and Federal, state and local regulations.
9. Establishes the flow of information to evaluate plant performance and provide production planning with sales information, trends, costs, and future transactions.
10. Provides compelling and strategic leadership to the department, including and the development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department.
11. All other duties as assigned.

• Experience in driving and leading a process improvement initiative

Education/Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration required
• MBA preferred
• 15 or more years of progressively greater responsibility roles within a manufacturing, production and/or plant operations environment required
• Working knowledge and leadership within a process improvement and/or Lean manufacturing environment required
• In depth production experience with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
