The Department of Toxicology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe invites applications for a tenure-track, 12-month position, at the Assistant Professor level.

 

We are seeking candidates with expertise in Food Toxicology/Chemistry, with an emphasis on how the chemistry of foods impact areas such as microbial safety, food toxicology, food allergy or bioactive food components for human health.  A successful candidate will be expected to develop an extramurally-funded research program as well as to provide expertise in addressing food toxicology-related issues specific to local agriculture businesses.  Responsibilities will include developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in food toxicology/safety and participating in toxicology courses in the undergraduate toxicology program.

 

The successful applicant is required to have a Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline, a strong interest in teaching and strong oral and written communication skills.  Postdoctoral research experience is highly preferred.
