Position Title: Instructor-Food Science

Job Overview: The Richard C. Goodwin College of Professional Studies at Drexel University invites nominations and applications for a full time, Non Tenure Track Instructor position within the Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts and Food Science Program. Although renewal is dependent upon academic program needs, budget and performance, the position is intended to be long term with the successful candidate becoming an active member of the program and participating in program planning, curriculum development, and outreach efforts. Applications will be accepted from highly qualified individuals in a relevant area or related field. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:Candidates must have a minimum of an earned master's degree in food science or a terminal degree in a related field and relevant teaching and industry experience. Candidates for the position will have strong interest and experience in food product development, food safety, food processing, sensory evaluation and laboratory procedures. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, scholarly achievement and excellence. Desirable teaching qualifications include: evidence of excellence in teaching, excellent communication skills, interest in a highly collaborative faculty environment, experience in and enthusiasm to teach both face to face and online, and experience in curriculum planning. The ability to teach courses in other areas of the department including culinary arts and hospitality management is desirable.

Essential Functions: Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, student supervision and mentoring, service on committees and participating in professional and industry activities. Teaching will occur at Drexel University's Main Campus and regional locations and scheduling may include day, evening, and weekend courses, both on site and online. Opportunities may exist for summer teaching.
