Position Purpose: This individual will lead and develop a group of
Sr. Scientist, Scientist and Technologist. Has strong technical and
leadership approach to achieve tactical and strategic project/business
objectives. Works with the R&D Director to develop technical/business/
resource evaluation for research project plan. Leads the team in conducting
research by utilizing experimental method (design, procure, prepare,
conduct, record, interpret report) with formulation and processing knowledge.
Coordinates project activities, has responsibility of timelines (early
alert & proactive solution of issues); evaluates progress and leads
team members towards the achievement of tactical project/business
objectives; Serves as the key R&D liaison to Retail Food business and
effectively communicates results to marketing managers and senior level
management as appropriate; documents research processes; and proactively
seeks to improve processes. Drive the key technology platform projects with
innovation of new ideas to deliver incremental volume and cost savings for
Required (Basic) Experience & Education: MS in Food Science,
Dairy Science or BS Chemical Engineering from an accredited university with
a minimum of 5 years experience in the food
industry. ï€ Solid understanding of Food Science
principles, in-depth technical knowledge of food formulations and
processes, ingredient functionality; and the ability to develop flavor
systems. Knowledge of product/process/package interactions, manufacturing
processes, finished product applications; food processing and a good
understanding of experimental design principles are also required.
Required Competencies & Other Skills: Proactive leader that can
achieve results through cross functional teamwork with internal and
external resources. Strong Team Management skills. Strong planning and
organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects with rapidly
changing priorities-strong project management skills; focused to achieve
customer expectations. Excellent, communication/interpersonal skills with
technical/business partners/customers and the ability to achieve
accelerated time tables while maintaining cooperative working
relationships. Strong impact and influence skills. Proven technical problem
Preferred Experience & Education: An advance degree such a PhD
in Food Science or MS in Engineering with more than 5 years of experience
in dairy manufacturing is preferred. Customer-centric in nature with strong
technical and leadership skills and experiences. Proven track record
working with business leaders.
Supervisory management experience is preferred.
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills: Customer-centric in
nature with strong technical depth and leadership experiences.
