As a leader in the industry our client has a reputation for
promoting from within. Due to the growth of their Central Pennsylvania
plant, an opportunity to join the leadership team in a supervisory role has
successful candidate must have the ability to not only perform the tasks of
the job, but more importantly to lead others to improve their performance.
This person has to have a track record of mentoring and developing
production staff to new levels of performance. To do this they must have a
sound understanding of the rules and regulations pertaining to safe food
production as well as the ability to track and manage using KPIs. A strong
familiarity with using technology tools comes along with the more hands on
aspects of the job. They must have a demonstrated ability to communicate
effectively the importance of not just compliance with regulations and
procedures, but also to be able to instill a willingness to use that
knowledge to improve the personal performance of the team and the plant.
A Bachelors Degree or greater in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or
a related field plus a minimum of three years of experience in quality and
food safety OR a High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of seven years
of experience in quality and food safety.
Broad knowledge of operations and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Proven successful experience in Food Safety Systems.
Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization as well as
third party agencies and regulatory officials.
Demonstrated ability to influence and provide direction.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
