Key Accountabilities:

1. PRODUCT COMMERALIZATION:
---Commercialize new products by working with MDI and the suppliers. 
---Travel to production facilities to work with suppliers during ramp up of new products which includes specification and processing development.  New item development includes, but is not limited to, specifications, labels, nutrition, microbiological testing, formulas, and shelf lives.  Ensure all new products are acceptable (food safety and food quality) for testing and/or launch. 
---Develop and execute audit plans during ramp up of new products.

2.   SUPPLIER/PRODUCT COMPLIANCE:
---Develop and execute audit plans on all primary Applebee's and IHOP products based on volume and signaturability.  Analyze data and communicate data with suppliers and work towards continuous improvement as needed. 
---Work with suppliers on compliance to all specifications. 
---Travel to facilities to monitor production and work through any issues that may arise. 
---Conduct process audits and hold supplier summits as needed.  Work with MDI and Procurement as needed on alternate source projects aimed at ensuring continuity of supply. 

3.  PROJECT SUPPORT:
---Provide support on projects as required under direction of Director or Manager to ensure food safety, improve food quality, optimize products or align products. 
---Conduct sensory panels as needed.

4.  SPECIFICATION/FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT:
---Write specifications, develop audit templates, and prepare formulations. 
---Maintain data base of supplier information, audit information, specifications and formulations as required.

Ideal candidate will have:

EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATION:
--  Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline including food science, microbiology, chemistry, or meat science.
--  Strong computer skills

EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR ROLE OR FUNCTION:
--  3-5 years experience in manufacturing or a chain QSR or CDR 
     concept.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
--  Knowledge of quality systems-GMPs, HACCP, auditing and
     specification writing.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
--  Maintain positive attitude under stressful conditions
--  Team player, critical thinker, ability to multi-task, organized, self-  
     motivated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
--  Travel - up to 30%
--  Ability to lift 50 pounds
