Overall Focus: To ensure that the Ainsworth facilities meet all Safe Quality Food Standards. Provide assistance to the Corporate Sanitarian in the management and implementation of the Meadville facility master cleaning schedule.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work with Corporate Sanitarian to implement the master cleaning schedule on a daily basis
o Assign daily tasks
o Lay out tools/equipment for the crews
• Apply pesticides as required by label
• Assume daily management responsibilities of Food Safety crew
• Perform all sanitation for the assigned area including facilities and equipment following the Standard Operation Procedures and job instructions.
o Inspect assigned areas on a daily basis
o Work with Production, Maintenance and Warehouse supervisors to address problems in assigned areas as well as entire facility
o Perform deep cleaning of all equipment
o Ensure that work is completed according to schedule
• Perform weekly inspection of facility and ingredients for insect and rodent activity.
• Access needed supplies and track what is used according to established methods
• Manages contractors to complete food safety projects and building repairs
• Be proactive in detecting and correcting food safety/maintenance problems including writing maintenance reports as needed.
• Maintain constant communication with Corporate Sanitarian and other Food Safety members
• Know the whereabouts of tools at all time
o Follow all lock out/tag out procedures by contacting maintenance leads or Shift Supervisors for lockout support
• Ensures that the Ainsworth Food Safety program is adhered to
o Ensures that all SOP’s are being followed
o Informs Corporate Sanitarian of any food safety problems
o Serves as the designee for the Corporate Sanitarian in dealing with reported food safety issues or maintenance of the SQF system.
o Reports critical food safety issues immediately to A-Leads
o Alerts Corporate Sanitarian for need to update or modify SOP’s based on needed changes to the processes
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions
o Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification
o Take and document required process, quality measures
o Meet or exceed established targets
• Adhere to all Food Safety procedures
o Follow all GMP’s
o Keep process areas clean and neat
o Reports all infestation and rodent problems to the Corporate Sanitarian
o Ensure all buildings meet Food Safety requirements
o Adheres to sanitation and chemical usage procedures
o Manages contractors to complete all tasks following all safety procedures
• Actively participate as a member of the Ainsworth Safety Program
o Follow all safety procedures
o Report all unsafe actions and conditions
• Live by Ainsworth Values

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED

Certifications/Licenses: Must have valid driver’s license; Department of Agriculture Core –oo and Category 11
