Job Summary

Exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Auditor at UL Everclean!

  • A Bachelor's degree in a science;
  • A Bachelor's degree with two years experience in food protection; or
  • An Associate's degree with four years progressive experience in food-related work.

Job Responsibility

Utilize specialized knowledge and training to analyze and assess food safety, sanitation and security measures at client locations, primarily restaurants, mass merchandisers and grocery stores. Educate clients on food safety practices. Use a consultative approach to conduct training on food safety policies and procedures in a way in which inspires the clients to adopt these principles in a positive fashion. Prepare written analyses (audit reports) for clients setting forth scope of audit as well as observations, assessment and recommendations. This position mainly serves the Chicago market, but also requires travel throughout Illinois, Indiana and Iowa.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a science, or Bachelor's degree with two years experience in food protection; or Associates degree with four years progressive experience in food-related work.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and grow relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to be consultative with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and use good judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
  • Good computer skills; including building spreadsheets and inputting data on Excel.
  • A quick learner and the ability to think strategically and good problem solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to take "ownership" of your work and deliver an accurate and detailed work project.
  • Ability to complete overnight travel 10% of the time throughout the assigned region.

Additional Skills/Requirements

  • Experience in food safety restaurant inspections, auditing and training.
  • REHS, RS certification.
  • ServSafe certification.
