Responsible for the quality, food safety and regulatory compliance for goods manufactured in the facility. This position will manage the quality supervisor and quality technicians in the plant and assure the plant is in compliance with all corporate and customer quality and food safety requirements.

Principal Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

         Leads the quality group in all phases.

         Leads and manages plant HACCP and Food Defense teams. Validate systems to assure program is adequate.

         Uses problem solving skills to determine effective corrective action for plant quality/regulatory issues.

         Manages customer and regulatory agency audits.

         Maintains GFSI site certification

         Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and all food safety and food regulatory requirements.

         Manages customer relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.

         Manages plant pest control program.

         Tracks Quality metrics.

         Maintains operations and quality documentation, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and guidelines.

         Assists in the hiring, training, evaluating, developing, supervising and terminating of department personnel.

         Performs all other related duties as required.


Education/Experience Required:

         Bachelorís degree in science or related field from an accredited college or university.

         Minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience managing quality related functions in a manufacturing operation (preferably food)

         Strong time management and planning skills to cope with a fast pace, high-mix production environment.

         Excellent communication skills

         Ability to set clear goals and, through effective communications, share those goals with staff.

         Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents.

         Demonstrated ability to analyze information, situations, problems, policies and procedures to formulate logical and objective decisions.

         Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.

         Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite of productivity applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

         Professional quality management certification (preferred)

         Must be eligible to work in the US for any employer.

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobís functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 30% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed in an office within the plant.
