Technician I assist in the daily analytical and microbiological testing
of food products, ingredients and environmentals.
Primary functions include preparing and maintaining bacteriological media
and reagents, disposal of solutions including autoclave and hazardous
waste, sterilization protocols, sample log-in, preparation and setting,
and glassware maintenance.
Training in general
laboratory practices preferred
One or more years experience in a commercial food-testing
Familiarity with aseptic
Familiarity with autoclaves
and sterile dispensing equipment
Basic knowledge of concepts
and practices of a testing laboratory
Or equivalent combination
of education and experience
