Location: Soledad CA
Based in Soledad, CA, our supervisor will coordinate and supervise
manufacturing facility Quality Assurance and laboratory functions, to
'X Ensure that all quality assurance programs and procedures are being
'X Ensure compliance to Federal, State and local regulations
'X Increase awareness and evaluation of GMP¡¿s and enforce plant quality
'X Monitor, enforce and further develop plant HACCP program.
'X Ensure incoming raw material is in compliance with established criteria by
coordinating pre-harvest and review of field and cooler operations.
'X Enforce and monitor the GAP program
'X Generate weekly quality reports
'X Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
EDUCATION: Bachelor¡¿s Degree in Food Science, Postharvest Physiology or
related field. Experience in vegetable farming operations desirable.
SKILLS: Supervisory and training skills; working experience with Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
(HACCP), Statistical Process Control (SPC); Good Agricultural Practices
(GAP), strong analytical and problem solving skills required; knowledge of
related Federal and State regulations; competency in computer word processing
(MS Word), Spreadsheet (Excel) and Database Software (Access) required.
ADDITIONAL: Excellent communications skills. Bilingual in Spanish/English
preferred. Willing to work first or second shift. Some weekend work required.
Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. REQUIRES SEASONAL
RELOCATION TO YUMA DURING THE WINTER SEASON.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years in food industry, with 1-3 years in supervision, in a
quality assurance lab or food manufacturing QA Department. Experience in
vegetable farming operations desirable.
