Asst. Professor of Food Science

Tenure tracking position at the Assistant Professor level (60% research, 40% teaching) specializing in the microbiology of beneficial organisms. Research ares include, but are not limited to: 1.) systems biology of non-pathogenic mold, yeast, or bacterial food fermentation organisms; 2.) impact of foods (including prebiotics and probiotics) on the human gastrointestinal tract microbiota and functions; or 3.) pathogenesis or physiology of foodborne pathogens. This position carries a commitment to the three important functions of resident instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to Faculty rank.
