Description We are seeking a Corporate Food Safety Manager for a well known and established Poultry Processing Company located in Indiana. This position will report directly to the VP of operations and will have 19 direct reports covering 3 plants. This position will offer creative control and is a corporate level of management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Poultry( at least 5 yrs) in the Quality/Technical leadership area. This candidate will possess excellent technical skills (spc, labeling, sqf, haccp) and also 'hands on' experience working with the USDA on a daily basis. A combination of technical strength, and quality management or supervision is Ideal.   This position will be based in Indiana, where two of the plants are located. The third plant is located in California, and regular visitation will be necessary. There is a good relocation package, bonus, and benefits.

 

  • Experience designing , developing, and managing advanced product quality and    specification programs

         Experiece working cross functionally, both within and outside the organization

  • Experience w/ Global Food Standards Initiatives such as SQF beneficial
  • Will develop and maintain  regulations programs for three plants
  • Responsible for leadership of on-site quality supervisors and quality technicians
  • Conduct Regulatory oversight activities in all areas of consumer protection
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with poultry, or a strong protein and/or further processing background

Requirements

  • Ten years of demonstrated quality leadership
  • Food Science degree
  • Technical competence in food safety, microbiology, & statistics
  • Extensive knowledge of poultry slaughter and value added ready to cook and ready to eat production operations
  • Expertise in regulatory affairs, programs and research (HACCP, GMPs, labeling, recall, food defense, etc.,)
