Position
Description
The Food Safety Coordinator position gathers and converts data into
actionable information by creating tracking and reporting tools to help
resolve food safety issues. The reporting function requires working with
multiple third party providers, suppliers, and data from hundreds of
regulatory inspections. This position does help with general administrative
functions for the department such as answering the phones, completing agendas
and minutes, making copies, and ordering supplies. This
position also helps book fights and manage calendars and travel expenses
of leaders in the department. This position is primarily responsible for
helping to track regulatory inspections but will assist with tracking
internal food safety audits, pest audits and supplier approval process and
complaints.
Minimum
Qualification
An administrative assistant with strong computer skills. Associate's degree
or two years of post high school education in
Business, Law, Science, Liberal Arts, or related field OR 1 year experience
in retail, licensing, regulatory or related field.
Additional
Preferred Quailification
Individual should have some formal training or proficiencies in building
reports and using software to develop tools and solutions for large amount of
data. Bachelors degree in
Food Microbiology, Food Science, or related field. General knowledge of food
safety and public health, FDA food code, and HACCP related principles.
Individual has knowledge of Remedy system.
