Role and Responsibilities:
- You will develop, implement and
manage the formulation and process design of all newly commercialized
items
- Run tests and analyzes results
for improving process performance and product quality
- Anticipate our customer’s needs
and respond to their requests by developing new innovative options using
our core products/processes or consistent with our core technologies
- Work closely with Marketing to
create products that drive incremental growth
- Provide technical input with
Operations, Management, and Sales/Marketing to ensure completion of
Company objectives
- Effectively design and document
details of product development: objectives of test, accurate formulas
and costing, processing conditions, required equipment and equipment
setup, results, and recommended next steps
- A flexible schedule is required
to support testing as necessary. Occasionally, plant tests must be
conducted during off shifts, on weekends and off site
- Develop finished goods
specifications and information needed for labeling
- Develop bill-of-materials for
costing and operation in the plant
Requirements:
- Demonstrated creativity and
strong problem solving expertise using innovative approaches
- The ability to influence change
and a willingness to spend time in the plant during all shifts
- Excellent understanding of food
science and technology principles, and ability to apply them in product
development and commercialization
- Strong written and oral
communications skills
- Strong presentation skills to
both external and internal contacts
- Proficient in Excel, Word and
PowerPoint
- Must be well balanced between
the strategic view of the work and the execution aspects of the job
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university (emphasis in
Food Science);
A minimum of 7+ years related experience and/or training in a related field.
