India: 150 take ill after eating
contaminated food

(PTI): In a suspected case of food poisoning, 150 people fell ill after
consuming contaminated food at a religious feast held at Mandava village in
this Rajasthan district. Those
taken ill included mostly women and children. They complained of vomitting
and stomachache yesterday after having lunch at a religious feast
"Sawamani" organised at the village, Deputy CMHO (Health) Dr Pratap
Singh said. While
some were given treatment on the spot, others were admitted to BDK government
hospital here, Dr H.P. Sharma, head of the hospital told PTI. Meanwhile,
no case has been registered against any one in this regard, SHO, Mandava
police station, Gopi Ram Bazia said. |
