Position Summary:
The
Food Compliance Specialist’s primarily role is to provide guidance in
support of developing innovative food products that are safe and comply
with all applicable regulations. The position requires providing
technical leadership and strategy towards developing a robust food safety
and compliance program supporting well established brands and new product
launches, preparing the business in navigating through emerging
regulatory and legislative hurdles, and enabling business to develop
innovative consumer meaningful claims. In addition to maintaining
effective communication with all key stakeholders, the position requires
establishing strategies, guidelines and processes that provide the
critical support, and effectively archives the learning as fundamental to
a robust knowledge management system.
The
candidate will have full responsibility for coordinating the product
safety and regulatory aspects of the projects they work on, and will be
the primary contact for the food business in regulatory and safety
matters.
Primarily
responsible for the following:

Develop
and implement regulatory strategies for the food business unit
·
Maintain
and continuously improve robust foods regulatory compliance programs
·
Act
as the Regulatory representative, coordinating and developing positive
relationships with cross-functional teams, trade associations, and
government agencies
·
Monitor
competitive products and legislation that may impact Clorox products and
develop strategies to give a competitive advantage
·
Participate
on Product Development teams providing overall regulatory strategy
guidance on execution to ensure compliance on product registration,
Kosher, Organic, Natural, Food Defense, and others
·
Coordinate
and ensure robust Organic and Kosher programs are established
·
Review
Label, Marketing Communication and Product Claims for compliance
Required Qualifications:
·
At
least 5 years of experience in a Regulatory Compliance Department and/or
Quality Assurance
·
Minimal
BS in Food Science or related Science degree
·
Experience
in FDA, USDA, or similar regulations
·
Working
knowledge of Food & Drug regulations and requirements for Kosher and
Organic certification.
·
Broad
Food & Regulatory Affairs knowledge
·
Strong
understanding production/manufacturing implications of regulations
·
Candidate
must possess strong interpersonal skills and have demonstrated ability to
interact with regulators and cross-functional teams
·
Excellent
communication skills—can successfully communicate within the organization
and externally
