leader in the beverage industry has an immediate opening for a Food
Technologist/Quality Assurance Manager in the Philadelphia area.
JOB SUMMARY:
Candidate will be
responsible for working with the QA and R&D teams in developing new
formulae, preparing procedures and specifications for new products,
reviewing & updating current product formulations. Candidate will work
closely with Business Development team to increase customer base through
product replication and process improvement. Candidate will work, on a
daily basis, with the Production team to ensure that Good Manufacturing
Practices are maintained and that product quality remains at a level of
excellence that exceeds industry standard..
Duties and
Responsibilities
- New
product development and testing from initial formulation through to
production.
- Responsible
for the management of company formulas for optimization of ingredient
usage.
- Responsible
for sourcing new ingredients, finding secondary suppliers and reducing
costs.
- Responsible
for performing sensory analysis on new products.
- Responsible
for management of product sampling.
- Responsible
for overseeing specific points of daily manufacturing.
- Responsible
for maintaining multiple logs within the QA process.
REQUIREMENTS
§
Minimum of a BS degree in Food Science or equivalent.
§
Ideal candidate will have a 2+ - 5 years experience in the Beverage and/or
Foodservice industry.
Knowledge, skills,
abilities and competencies:
- Superior
communication skills both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal
skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and functional
areas within the company and outside of the company.
- Well
- Organized
- Capable
of working both independently and as a team member
- Working
knowledge of MS Office.
- Advanced
Computer literacy a plus.
