As a
leading expert, this position will manage a region of ConAgra Mills for
corporate food safety and sanitation. This function supports plant food
safety and sanitation in the effective use and setting standards for
chemicals, cleaning processes, sanitation equipment, equipment design,
HACCP support, and regulatory compliance related to food safety. This
position also covers sites and stations used by Transportation. Plans and
directs a staff of specialists in support of plant sanitation and pest
control. Determines resources and provides technical guidance and
leadership. Advise operations management. Guide plants during special
plant sanitation issues including microbiological, environmental control,
insect and foreign material control. Ensure plant follow up of food
protections programs to detect and eliminate sources of contamination.
Provide sanitary design recommendations for new and existing equipment.
Support the HAACP plan update. Work closely with internal and outside
sanitation vendors to improve sanitation performance and costs.
Investigate sanitation issues, which are resulting in product
contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer rejection of products.
Introduce new or improved cleaning and pest control methods, procedures,
equipment, technologies and other new developments. Attend technical
meetings to continually update knowledge in advances in sanitation and
pest control. Provide recommendations for equipment and machinery-based
change (new equipment, retrofits or design modification of existing
equipment – sanitary design reviews). Work closely with Engineering and
equipment vendors to assure that new equipment meets sanitary design and
regulatory design requirements prior to installation. Provide expertise
in the development of policies and procedures relating to sanitation.
Standardize practices across plants including conformance to quality and
food safety standards. Help establish manning requirements. Support all
pest management functions including the purchase, storage, inventory, use
and disposal of restricted use pesticides. Position plays a technical
support role between three key functions: Pest management vendor, plant
QA and Enterprise Procurement. Spend 50% of time at the various ConAgra
Mill facilities shop floor observing process workflow, equipment
operations, and that sanitation guidelines are being followed. Position
Qualifications Minimum B.S. Degree or 5 years of food industrial
experience in operations, Quality and/or sanitation roles. Excellent
knowledge of FDA, USDA, AIB and HACCP. Excellent knowledge of sanitary
design, sanitation and pest management in food processing. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Excellent
knowledge in using statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.Excellent
understanding of microbiological organisms and stored product. Click on
