Coordinate development and maintenance of Food Safety and Food Quality
programs for the manufacturing facility as required by the site manufacturing
Plant President, Flowers Foods Corporate QA, governing regulatory agencies,
independent 3rd party audit firms, and customers. Audit and monitor plant
processes to verify that the plant is in compliance with all food safety and
mandatory quality systems including but not limited to a routine review of
the plant product formulations, HACCP program, GMP Programs, Allergen
programs, and Quality Systems. Work with plant management to ensure that
procedures exist to investigate the cause of significant non-conformity
against standards, specifications and procedures, which are critical to
product safety, legality and quality and conform to BRC – Global Standards.
Major recurring tasks include:
- Assist Plant President to
ensure that the facility and all contractors/ vendors are in compliance
with all Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to Food Safety
- Review product formulations to
assure that they are in line with the current nutrition labeling
- Initiate annual plant Mock
- Review, update, and maintain
plant Quality and Food Safety Programs, HACCP Program, Recall Program,
GMP Policies, Allergen Program, current vendor Ingredient Specifications
including Ko-sher certification letters (if
- Prepare and maintain internal
and external (i.e., customer specific) Finished Product Specifications
- Prepare, maintain, and submit
documentation as required for Nutrition Labeling Program
- Lead in corrective action
process related to quality and food safety programs, consumer concerns
and facility audits.
- Review documentation and advise
plant management on all compliance issues associated with food safety
compliance issues such as proper record keeping for Bioterrorism
Preparedness and Response Act of 2002
- Assist with develop of training
materials and training of authorized employees concerning areas that
affect product safety, legality and quality.
- Practice and comply with all
Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes
- Performance of other duties
which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job,
including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to
attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and
LICENSE- HACCP Training Certification.
MOBILITY- Ability to move to all areas of the plant, office and
company-related facilities. Travel Expectations comprise 5 – 10% of job
duties. Ability to participate in work-related Seminars and courses as
approved by manager.
SENSORY- Ability to generate written and verbal communication as well
as read and review correspondence. Ability to operate computer, including use
of SAP systems. Proficiency at creating and maintaining various types of
files using Microsoft Office applications included Excel, Word, Access, and
COMMUNICATIONS- Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual
to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via
telephone) and/or another language if required. Ability to generate written
and verbal communication as well as read and analyze correspondence.
ATTENDANCE- Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.

- Working knowledge of current
FDA CFR Title 21 regulations related to food and food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of food
- Basic understanding of
microbiological and analytical testing applications as they pertain to
ingredient specifications and product specifications
- Ability to meet FDA and CDC
guidelines on public safety for work in a food manufacturing
A minimum 1 to 3 years experience in the baking
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology and/or Chemistry.
