Our
ideal candidate will have a proven track record in:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The International Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for executing key
International food quality and safety initiatives. This individual will
provide technical expertise to the brands in developing specifications,
commercializing new products, maintaining quality of existing products, and
product improvement. The International Quality Assurance Manager will
also be responsible for International vendor compliance, alternate supplier
approval, crisis management, supplier program development, troubleshooting,
and handling guest/risk management inquiries.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product
Commercialization
- Support the
culinary teams for Applebee’s and IHOP and the suppliers in
commercializing/identifying new products. New item development
includes, but is not limited to, specifications, labels, nutrition,
microbiological testing, formulas, and shelf lives.
- Ensure all new
products are acceptable (food safety and food quality) for testing
and/or launch in the International markets.
Supplier/Product
Compliance
- Manage the
development and execution of third party product audit plans on primary
Applebee’s and IHOP International products based on volume and signaturability
- Analyze data,
communicate data with suppliers, and work toward continuous improvement
as needed
- Create and maintain
an approved products list
- Work with suppliers
on compliance to all specifications
- Manage product
complaints on International products
Supplier/Facility
Approval
- Manage the approval
program for International suppliers and facilities
Specification/Formulation
Development
- Write
specifications, develop audit templates, and prepare formulations
- Maintain database
of supplier information, audit information, specifications, and
formulations as required
Distributor/Facility
Approval and Compliance
- Manage the development
and execution of an approval program for International distributors and
facilities
- Manage third party
compliance audit program
- Work with
International regulatory agencies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
required in a scientific discipline including food science,
microbiology, chemistry, or dairy, meat or poultry science
- 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing plant or
foodservice chain restaurant; international experience a plus
- Knowledge of
quality systems – GMPs, HACCP, auditing, and specification writing
- Must be able to
maintain a positive attitude under stressful conditions, manage and
complete projects independently, and be a team player
- Strong critical
thinking skills, organizational skills, and multi-tasking skills
- Some travel, including
International travel, will be required
- Master’s degree in
related science or business preferred
- Certified quality
engineer or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Previous experience
in a chain QSR or CDR preferred
- Bilingual
candidates preferred
