•Leads process improvement teams and directs timely completion of projects that support critical goals and customer satisfaction requirements, and serves as the departmental point of contact for specific project initiatives and best practices.
•Works across all NCFS units with process owners, project champions, and business unit leaders to facilitate setting priorities, developing agendas and designing objectives related to Covance Six Sigma.
•Trains, mentors, coaches and challenges team members, process owners and project champions in the use of Six Sigma statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create process management and measurement systems and develop a Covance Six Sigma mindset at the department or process level.
•Develops and communicates business cases to support recommendations for change to current business practices and processes, and develops controls to monitor the progress associated with implementation of recommended changes.
•Good project management skills, including an ability to plan and execute projects that meet cost, resource and outcome expectations; manage complex and/or competing priorities effectively; and meet commitments in an accurate and timely manner.

• BS/BA degree

•13-15 years of business experience required.
•Quantitative reasoning (comfortable with math concepts; ability to use Program Mgt. And Minitab statistical tools; ability to understand and draw conclusions from raw statistical data).
•Technical competence (familiarity with process modeling and evaluation; ability to acquire Covance Six Sigma Black Belt Certification in 6 month period; basic knowledge of computers and software applications.)
•Leadership potential as exhibited by previously demonstrated ability to apply innovation and exploration of non-traditional ideas in solving business problems; well respected in the organization; demonstrated ability to use personal energy and positive attitude to persuade; adapts readily to changing work demands; maintains composure under pressure.
•Communications skills, as demonstrated by presentation of problems to appropriate people in objective, honest and non-judgmental manner; matching influence strategies to the situation; delivering oral and written communications with clarity and impact.
