Position responsible for planning and
implementing assigned projects and tasks within the Pizza Division Product
Applications Group. Individual will play a technical leadership role on
various innovation and renovation product development projects. Position
works closely with other members of the product and packaging development
group and develops strong cross-functional relationships throughout the
division. Assignment will provide exposure to the business categories,
suppliers and manufacturing network of the Nestle Pizza Division.
1. Manage product development activity (bench top and pilot plant
development, experimental design test work, evaluate results with team and
determine direction, maintain appropriate records of work) to meet project
2. Work closely with marketing, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and
packaging in a team environment to commercialization new product
initiatives, line extensions, quality improvements, and productivity
3. Plan, organize, and conduct plant trials.
4. Execute consumer product guidance tests and sensory analysis, report
results, and recommend next steps.
5. Understand, create, implement and modify product and process
specifications and procedures.
6. Develop technical solutions to a wide range of formula and processing

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION
' Minimum of BS degree in Food Science, Engineering or related field is
' Position requires approximately 25% travel.
' Minimum of 3 years experience in food science
or related field required.
' Minimum of 3 years experience
in product development required.
' Firm understanding of the product development process including pilot
plant development, consumer testing, factory scale-up, and
' Strong analytical and problem solving skills, technical competence, and
' Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
' Highly motivated and goal oriented
' Good oral and written communication skills in order to communicate
effectively with cross functional team members and management
' Must be a team player and possess good interpersonal skills
' Basic understanding of chemistry of food products, analytical testing,
formulations, and processing used in food manufacturing
' Basic understanding of interrelationship of product, process and package
' Ability to work with suppliers to deliver technical components
' Understanding of manufacturing plant capabilities during start-up and
' Is knowledgeable of and follows applicable safety procedures and GMPs.
