POSITION SUMMARY: Directs efforts of food safety, quality control and food security for the entire nut business (shelling and processing). Helps represent the Company with USDA decisions and inspections. Directs training efforts and overall food sanitation efforts. Works with plant management and supports manufacturing goals (with manufacturing supporting food safety as well). Position will become part of management team and also attend key industry meetings with CEO’s approval.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

 

  • Four-year degree in Food Service, Microbiology (a degree in Business would help)
  • Background in food safety and food services
  • Solid grasp of manufacturing and plant management
  • Ability to manage people, communicate and train
  • Must be engaged with staff and not bureaucratic
  • Needs to be practical yet non-compromising

REPORTS TO: CEO

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Keep Company in SQF and USDA compliance
  • Directs food safety, sanitation, QA in all plants
  • Keeps employees trained in current GMPs
  • Direct efforts on plant inspections with key customers
  • Attend key industry meetings as needed and approved
  • Works with plant management/production personnel
  • Becomes involved with quality complaints and their satisfactory conclusion
