approval for foodborne bacteria test

Inc. said the Food and Drug
Administration has approved its rapid test for
Campylobacter bacteria, which causes foodborne illness. The ImmunoCard Stat!
Campy test is simple to perform and provides results in 20 minutes, Meridian
said in a news release. The test is already being marketed in Europe and has
been approved for distribution in Canada. Campylobacter is one
of the most common causes of diarrheal illness and is most often transmitted
by poorly cooked poultry, the company said. Meridian (NASDAQ:
VIVO), based in Newtown, manufactures, markets and distributes diagnostic
test kits, purified reagents and related products. |
