Job Description :
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading Mead Johnson in developing and successfully implementing a global sensory strategy while also operationalizing the day-to-day consumer science vision and best practices throughout the organization. This will include oversight and leadership for sensory personnel in US and international business units as well as collaboration with the regional business teams to support and drive key sensory initiatives. Specifically, the Associate Director, Global Sensory Science will:
∑ Lead a team of sensory experts to ensure key strategic issues are addressed through the applied ideal of implementing best practices while also providing day-to-day operational leadership and direction to ensure added value to clients.
∑ Possess a passion for understanding industry sensory innovations and will lead the development and application of best practices for internal sensory programs, approaches and principles including:
Establish strong working relationships with key opinion leaders and sensory
firms to identify and manage sensory research to support long-term innovation
- Train all internal Sensory labs on best practices
∑ Lead the organization in the establishment and implementation of sensory panels across all regions and ensuring that the sensory panels are fully integrated into Mead Johnsonís sensory strategy and day-to-day operations.
∑ Partner with internal innovation teams and serve as sensory specialist to ensure best approaches and provide business recommendations based on study results.
∑ The Associate Director, Global Sensory Science will also serve as a key influence leader for the organization, providing direction and consumer feedback to keep business initiatives through strong oral and written communications of study outcomes and implications.
Job Requirements :
∑ 10-15 years of Sensory Science experience preferred (or a combination of Food Product Development and Sensory Science).
∑ MS or PhD in Sensory Science, Food Science or closely related field.
∑ Demonstrated leadership in driving a vision for Sensory and Consumer Science throughout an organization.
∑ Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative sensory methods and ability to recommend and design best approach for desired objective.
∑ Demonstrated history of successful design, training and deployment of descriptive as well as consumer panels to not only support projects and initiatives in the Innovation pipeline, but also to drive its front-end loading.
∑ Proficiency in statistics and statistical software (SAS preferred).
∑ Proficiency in Microsoft programs, such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
∑ Demonstrated time management skills resulting in efficient completion of deliverables to meet project schedules.
∑ Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership skills. The successful candidate must work effectively with all levels of personnel.
