Under the direction of the Quality Manager, directs effective and efficient sanitation programs that comply with all established company and regulatory policies and procedures. Ensures continuity of all sanitation programs across the business units. Serves as the technical expert in sanitation, allergen control, and GMP's.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1.    Ensure programs are defined, implemented, and effective for all aspects of Sanitation and Pest Control, including

2.     

a.    Master Sanitation Schedule - define appropriate cleaning frequency; based on risk, and ensure compliance to schedule

b.    Cleaning Procedures - verify cleaning procedures are defined for all equipment on the Master Sanitation Schedule, procedures are followed and are effective.

c.    Chemical controls - Maintain effective relationship with contracted chemical supplier to ensure controls for sanitation chemicals to include utilization, testing, inventories, proper labeling and safety and are compliant with Kraft and regulatory requirements.

d.    Pre-operational inspection - ensure program effectiveness through audits, observations, and trends.

e.    PIC/PEC - define and ensure compliance to schedule, identify improvement opportunities and resolve

f.     Allergen validations/management - site subject matter expert on allergen management, including validations, cleaning procedures, and daily compliance.

g.    Pest management - Oversight and management of the plant's pest control program, including the in-house PCO

3.    Partner with plant Microbiologist to manage the swab programs associated with equipment cleaning and environmental management.

4.    Monitor and audit compliance to defined programs and corporate/regulatory expectations and drive continual improvement.

5.    Effectively manage direct reports and provide direction to effected personnel to ensure sanitation activities are conducted properly.

6.    Work effectively with cross functional teams, such as Production and Logistics, to ensure Sanitation requirements are completed.

7.    Maintain routine communication with the plant leadership team.

8.    Provide guidance to the plant's janitorial service.

9.    Maintains routine and effective communication with corporate partners through one-on-one meetings, monthly conference calls, and annual meetings.

10. Develops plant sanitation KPI's and reports all appropriate data for Corporate Sanitation KPI's.

11. Establishes and directs sanitation training programs, to include safety and quality guidelines.

12. Keeps abreast of all current and new sanitation technologies.

13. Establishes the Sanitation budgets for all departments as well as tracking programs.

14. Responsible for product quality related to equipment cleanliness.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor Degree required (preferably in Food Science).

·         Knowledge of sanitation programs and government regulations regarding food manufacturing required.

·         Minimum 5 years of experience in Sanitation, Quality, or production experience with emphasis on Quality Control and Sanitation. Experience with Allergen management desired.

·         Effective communication skills, both oral and written, required.

·         Strong computer skills capable of trending data, organizing information.

·         Must be able to plan, organize and lead.

·         Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
