Food Technologist Job Details
Job Description West Liberty Foods is currently seeking a Food Technologist. This
position works in a very hands-on environment in creating new products,
building product extensions, and developing products to meet customer's
needs. This position is responsible for the execution of multiple projects
under the supervision of the R&D Project Leaders. Position Responsibilities: · Plan & organize activities around new products and build product
extensions. · Create and communicate product specifications. · Schedule product tests with production and scheduling departments. · Assist the R&D Project Leaders with new and current customers to
develop new products or improve current products. · Consult with current and/or new suppliers on industry trends and culinary
ideas. · Create and revise formulations for new and current products. · Provide cost analysis data to Finance for cost estimates and pricing. · Review existing production processes for cost improvement
opportunities. · Serve as a subject matter expert on product development. · Participate in presentations to management. · Utilize and support the R & D information system which
electronically warehouses batches, specifications, formulations and other
pertinent data. Position Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, preferred degree in
Food Science, Meat Science or Animal Science. · Computer literate in Windows applications and MS Office software. · Possess a valid driver's license. · Previous experience in meat product research and design is preferred.
