Job Description
Newly

offer a complete line of custom batters, breadings, coatings, spices,
seasonings, capsicums and functional ingredients for food manufacturers and
the foodservice industries.
We
have an immediate opening for a Food Scientist in our Watertown,
Massachusetts office.
The
Food Scientist is responsible for maintaining customer relations,
conducting analytical testing and evaluations and maintaining project files
by understanding Newly Weds Foods blending and production process.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to: • Duplicate, modify and develop
seasonings, dry batter mixes and/or breaders. • Conduct analytical testing
on competitive materials, enter formulae and specifications into the AS400
computer system and maintain accurate project files. • Formulate, apply and
test at bench level. • Arrange for the make up of product being shipped out
and evaluate outgoing product to insure it was properly prepared. • Source
ingredients. • Assure customer satisfaction through professional
communications with the customers, suppliers and Newly Weds Foods employees
including sales, production, customer service and alternate plant
facilities. • Conduct product demonstrations consisting of finished
presentation samples and plating. • Work with production and conduct quality
control checks on R&D products during the manufacturing of new
products. • Write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals,
possess the ability to present information and respond to questions from
the organization’s internal and external customers. • Approximate travel is
10%-30%. • Efficiently and effectively meets those requirements of an
Associate Food Scientist. • Perform other duties or special projects as
needed.
The
ideal candidate will possess the following: • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree
in Food Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field. •
Minimum of three years experience and/or training. • Strong communication,
interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office and email
applications.
