Position Responsibilities:

Kellogg Company has an opportunity for a Senior Hygienic Food Safety Engineer working with our Global Engineering Team in Battle Creek, Michigan.


Responsibilities and capabilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Provide engineering expertise and leadership in support of cross-functional food safety audit teams.

- Provide engineering expertise and leadership in the area of hygienic design and maintenance of equipment, buildings and utilities to multiple project teams.

- Provide leadership, training and direction to both internal engineers and third party engineering service providers on food safety auditing methodology, and hygienic equipment and facility design.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of hygienic equipment and construction specifications; and design standards.

- Discover and evaluate technologies and methods that enhance hygienic equipment design, facility design, and maintenance.

- Provide technical support to our manufacturing facilities.

- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Baking Industry Sanitation Standards Committee, Groundwater Management Area, United States Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration standards; and Good Manufacturing Practices related to food plant design, equipment fabrication, food safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point .

- Possess people interaction skills demonstrating ability to lead and manage projects and programs.

- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and detailed information to a wide range of audiences and individuals of differing knowledge levels.


Bachelors degree in engineering or technical discipline and 10 years related experience in hygienic design and food industry auditing.


Education and related work experience (preferred requirement) - Bachelors degree in engineering or technical discipline and 15 years related experience in hygienic design and food industry auditing, or a Masters degree and 12 years related experience in hygienic design and food industry auditing.


Travel 40% - 60%
