Description The Chemstar Food Safety Specialist (FSS) is the “Face of Chemstar".  A FST is responsible for providing Food Safety and Sanitation Services to a series of retail grocery stores in a specific territory.  During the Routine Service Visit, the FST completes a standardized Food Safety and Sanitation Audit that encompasses all aspects of retail grocery food safety, ensures that Associates are adhering to Company Standard Operating Procedures, verifies that all Chemstar Dispensing Equipment is in good working order, and that all Associates understand how to properly use all chemicals related to the Food Safety and Sanitation Program.  Additionally, the FST will utilize his/her knowledge and experience in food safety to administer Field Training, which is accomplished with “hands-on" training and the use of a comprehensive electronic video library available through Chemstar’s Knowledge Center. Ultimately, it is the FST’s primary responsibility to assess food safety and sanitation practices in a retail grocery store, record the information, develop an action plan on how to improve compliance, and provide training where and when necessary.

-      Complete daily route, which includes visiting specific retail grocery stores

-      Perform Food Safety and Sanitation Audits in retail grocery stores

-      Ability to identify food safety and sanitation issues and record information in Chemstar Electronic Audit

-      Use technology to enter data and generate Actionable Summary Reports

-      Review Actionable Summary Report with Manager on Duty

-      Provide Field Training to customer Associates as related to food safety and sanitation

-      Field Training shall include, but not be limited to:  adherence to Customer Standard Operating Procedures and proper use of Sanitation Chemicals

-      Developing and maintaining good rapport with client employees

-      Service all Chemstar Equipment and calibrate such equipment when necessary education and Work Experience requirements


Requirements -  High School Diploma and Two (2) Year College Education

-  CP-FM (or must pass the exam within ninety (90) days of employment)

-  CP-FS (or must pass the exam within ninety (90) days of employment)

-  Minimum two-years work experience in food safety / protection or related field Other requirements

-  Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record

-  Successful passing of a pre-employment drug test and background check Desired Skills and Experiences

-  Ability to identify compliance issues and develop solutions to improve compliance

-  Ability to communicate well with others and provide advanced training services

-  Computer Literacy:  effective use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

-  Self-starter capable of working effectively with minimal direct supervision
