Sargento Foods Inc. in Plymouth WI has an entry
level position for a Food Technologist. We are looking for a motivated,
versatile, enthusiastic individual who is willing to explore a career path
which will provide the opportunity gain knowledge, experience and exposure
to all facets of food manufacturing operations. The successful candidate
will have the opportunity to fill higher level positions in Manufacturing,
Logistics, Quality or R&D.
This is an entry level, developmental position that reports directly to the
plant QA manager with a liaison function to other operational areas.
The person in this role will lead and/or supports special projects to
improve operational performance. This position reports through one
manufacturing facility but could occasionally work with or within all
Wisconsin manufacturing facilities on developmental assignments/projects on
an as needed basis.
A variety of duties will be assigned to provide developmental opportunities
both in the areas of Quality Assurance and Plant/Operations.
This job has limited supervisory responsibilities, and is expected to be
able to step in and act as a relief Production Supervisor, act as Project
Team Leader, or oversee Quality Assurance Technician on quality related
projects as needed.
Per Sargento Promotion/Placement Criteria, Sargento may temporarily or permanently transfer
employees to another department, shift, job classification, or other
location for career development opportunities.
This is a developmental position. It is expected that the individual in
this position will gain the skills and experience necessary and demonstrate
performance at a level that will make them a successful candidate for an
available promotional opportunity within the Operations Group between six
months and two years from commencing employment in the position.

Bachelor Degree in Food Science or other related science degree required. 0
-2 years related
experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver’s License required.
OTHER SKILLS
This position utilizes excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and
the ability to work under stress in a fast paced environment. The ability
to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to
work collaboratively within a group is required.
Must be willing to work alternate work hours or shifts as necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
