Maraxi seeks a highly motivated flavor
chemist to join our dynamic team. Maraxi is a
disruptive Silicon Valley startup founded by scientists from Stanford and UC
Berkeley with top tier venture backing. We are developing novel technologies
to create great new foods from plant-derived ingredients that will transform
the world's food production system, greatly reducing its environmental impact
and increasing its efficiency and productivity.
Lead the development of tools
to measure and optimize the flavor and fragrance of food products.
Identify and quantitate flavor
and fragrance components of food products.
Develop methods on GC-MS, HPLC,
Identify and install analytical
Establish database of desired
flavor and fragrance molecules
Perform flavor analysis and
report conclusions to teams.
Analysis and quantitation of
small molecules and proteins. Rapid communication of results and
Provide training on analytical
methods and ensure data quality across organization.
Collaborate with other
scientists to achieve goals.
Establish and maintain a safe,
mentoring work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
PhD or equivalent in Analytical
chemistry, food science or related fields.
Self-motivated individual with
strong oral and written communication skills with good organization
Ability to design experiments
and manage project teams effectively
Ability to continuously
challenge assumptions, create new ideas, and push research daily
Ability to work with diverse,
dynamic team effectively
Determination to look under
non-obvious stones to find the best solution for the needed applications
