Job Description
Kellogg
Company currently has a Senior Food Safety Auditor position available in
Battle Creek. The Senior Food Safety Auditor provides the food safety
expertise on a cross-functional team responsible for planning, executing, and
documenting quality audits of both Kellogg and supplier facilities. Leads
development of and ensures consistent adherence to Kellogg approved audit
criteria utilizing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point food safety and
quality management principles.
The incumbent must have thorough knowledge of food safety and quality
management systems and understand food ingredient law, food processing and
controls, Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Agricultural Practices.
Candidates must have experience with the following types of food safety
programs: Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point, Microbiological testing
(environmental and finished food), allergen control, process validation
(lethality), sanitation and sanitary design, chemical control.
The incumbent possesses leadership and strong communication skills, and
diplomacy that will promote good relations with suppliers, procurement and
management. This individual must be able to function effectively as a leader
for the group, project manager, planner, coordinator, and communicator in a
high risk situation. Incumbent must demonstrate objectivity and authority in
all recommendations.
This position requires 50-60% travel and may include work in a food
processing or agriculture environment.

Job Requirements
Position
requires a Bachelor of Science in a food safety discipline (Microbiology,
Food Safety, Food Science or related field) with a minimum 8 years experience
in Quality and/or Food Safety including experience in food industry auditing.
Global Food Safety Initiative practitioner or certified auditor
preferred.
