Part-time research scientist working closely with PI in conducting research, writing reports and publications, supervising grads, post docs, and visiting scholars, maintaining lab.  Work closely on collaboration of projects with PI and co-PIs.  Position is soft-funded and dependent on continuation of funding.




         Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, or genetics.

         Two years of post doctoral experience in specified research.

         Experience in bacterial cultures, microscopic techniques, cloning and sequencing, and recombinant DNA technology.

         Extensive knowledge of specialized lab techniques.

         Trouble shooting and problem solving skills.

         Requires discretion and independent judgment in all areas of research including choosing methods and strategies and avoiding loss of valuable research time and resources. 

         Responsible and accountable for design of lab experiments. 

         Need to be able to delegate and manage day-to-day research procedures. 

         Strong verbal and communication skills.


         Five years post doctoral experience.

         Experience in grant writing and technical publications.
