Position Overview:
The Food Safety/Quality Leader will have the opportunity to work with a variety of members at our Meadowside and Riverside facilities as well as with USDA-FSIS Inspectors. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and implementing food safety and quality programs at Johnsonville. Training new members and existing members in these programs is an essential piece of this position. Your contribution will help ensure that Johnsonville products meet or exceed our defined standards of food safety, quality and consistency.

Utilize auditing skills to verify food safety and quality programs are implemented and product quality standards are maintained
Identify, define and solve food safety and quality issues while considering the impact to the business
Train new and existing members in food safety and quality programs
Ensure the daily HACCP documentation is complete, pre-shipments reviewed and proper follow-ups are documented
Ensure all daily SSOP and SOP documentation is complete and filed accordingly

Maintain product hold data base, making product disposition
Lead third party audits with exceptional results
Maintain product procedures
Develop your competencies by backing up the Food Safety/Quality Coordinator
What You Bring To The Job:
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field is required
Minimum of two years experience working in a food processing facility preferred
Experience working under a regulatory system, USDA-FSIS desired
Intermediate knowledge of food safety requirements and HACCP certified
Understanding of quality and sanitation systems with the ability to execute against
Extremely proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP experience a plus
Basic understanding of statistical quality tools
Basic auditing skills preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead third party audits; SQF program experience desired
Organized and detailed, yet flexible; able to prioritize workload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team member without direct supervision
Responsible, self-motivated individual with strong decision-making and problem solving skills
Self-starter who identifies opportunities and pursues solutions; desire to be a future leader
Able to work weekends on a rotation basis
Willingness to relocate to other Johnsonville facilities

Hours: Primarily first shift, supports all shifts/rotating weekends
