ATTENTION: This position is located in Storm Lake, IA, and does NOT provide
relocation assistance, or compensation for travel to & from work site.
STARTING PAY: $13.86 to 15.19/hr, with progressions
every 6 months.
This position is DAY-SHIFT and will work Monday - Friday, with
rotating SATURDAYS & holidays.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary from performing one
procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical, microbiological or
quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory.
Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and
data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for
process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements.
Initial proficiency testing must be passing and competency will be
verified bi-monthly. Team Members will be required to demonstrate
proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.
Experience: None, but preference will be given to candidates with laboratory
training and/or experience.
Difficulty of Duties: Work activities are welldefined with
clearly stated directions or guidelines. Most work steps are clearly
prescribed and cannot be modified. Most work duties require repetitive
Computer Skills: General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office programs, such as
Word, Excel & Outlook. Knowledge of LIMS a plus (not required).
Training Programs: The training needs for this job classification have been assessed
by the appropriate management team member and are listed in the Training
Spreadsheet. The amount and level of training required are dependent on the
level of responsibility authorized to team members assigned with this job
classification. Aside from the minimum required training, training programs
may vary from team member to team member.
Managerial Duties: No management duties are associated with this job classification
unless specifically authorized by the appropriate management team member
responsible for team members assigned with this job classification.
Other Requirements: Must be able to follow complex work instructions, able to operate
sophisticated laboratory equipment with minimal supervision, able to work
independently, and resolve routine problems. Also must be dependable,
punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality of company records.
