National Starch has an excellent opportunity for a Senior
Technical Service Technologist position in its Technical Service- Food team
within its Customer Solutions and Product Innovation department located at
our corporate headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ.

Senior Technical Service Technologist will provide technical service
support predominately to customers in the Toronto vicinity and in French
Canada. You will be responsible to provide technical support to customers
for a broad range of food applications. This includes promoting functional,
value-added ingredients and ingredient solutions via phone, face-to-face
meetings, at presentations and at trade shows.
responsibilities and activities will include:
Assisting customers in new product development.
Conducting pilot plant and production scale trials at customers.
Developing new and creative food concepts to showcase innovative starch-based
Conducting laboratory and pilot plant trials to verify performance and
scalability of food formulations.
Conducting troubleshooting and process optimization activities.
Developing superior working relationships with key R&D individuals and
decision makers at customers.
Collaborating closely with sales representative to develop go-to-market
approach for the assigned territory.
B.S. in Food Science/Food Engineering with 5 yrs experience in the food
industry or M.S. in Food Science/Food Engineering.
Experience in dairy product development or processing highly valued.
Strong customer focus with experience in interactions with ingredient
manufacturers or consumer goods manufacturing companies preferred.
Excellent knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality
and ingredient interactions.
Demonstrated experience of creative, hands-on food concept development
using culinary kitchen, laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment.
Sound French language skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to effectively manage projects and lead project teams. Experience
with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of
