FUNCTIONS
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the
guidance of Director, Plant Operations and Plant Manager, this summer
internship will be involved in project work which includes the following:
- Documentation and
creation/update of Standard Operating Procedures, equipment/instrument
installation and equipment/instrument checkout.
- Possible development of
electrical drawings; may include observing existing plant processes
and working with plant operator and supervisors to properly document
activities.
- May also work with Quality
Assurance, Maintenance Engineering and other plant personnel.

Internal
contact with all levels of plant personnel.
EDUCATION
REQUIREMENTS:
Sophomore
or Junior working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Process
Engineering, Food Science or related field with a minimum GPA of ; or
equivalent. Completion of basic or introductory courses in the
following areas is beneficial: Food Processing Operations, Intro to
Principles of Food Engineering.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to create
process flow diagrams showing all process parameters; the
specification of all instrumentation and equipment.
- Strong computer skills, with
an emphasis on MS Word and Excel.
- Must be able to work well
with others, in a production environment
- Must be organized, be about
to take direction but work independently.
- Ideal candidate will be
dependable, take initiative, possess strong common sense and can be
flexible.
