This position directs
the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) supplier team managing the
Exclusive Brand (EB) Suppliers for U.S. Foodservice (USF). The Director
ensures that all Exclusive Brand (EB) suppliers and products meet the
company’s safety, quality and regulatory compliance requirements, as well
as customer expectations.
manages the Supplier function of the FSQA Department through development
and implementation of strategic initiatives to support EB product lines.
continuous updating of USF food safety, quality and regulatory requirements
for the exclusive branded suppliers, based on regulatory legislation, the
latest scientific methods and technology developments.
manages the implementation of systems to measure supplier and product
adherence to USF safety and quality guidelines. Collaborates with
appropriate departments to approve and monitor new suppliers and products.
implements Food Safety and Quality Assurance policies and procedures for
the Supplier FSQA program and ensures they are implemented throughout the
USF organization and relevant suppliers.
implements measured responses to overcome product and supply chain
emergencies as it pertains to USF's product suppliers.
Serves as subject
matter expert in FSQA and crises management, particularly as it pertains to
suppliers and EB products. Develops and implements training programs based
on expertise and facilitates that training both across USF as well as with
suppliers and customers, areas include; food safety, quality control,
quality standards, sanitation, policy and procedure HACCP etc. Represents
USF at trade shows, conferences etc as needed.
Education: Bachelors Degree
in Food Science, Food Technology or related field. Masters Degree preferred
A minimum of 7 years managing an FSQA program. Must demonstrate thorough
knowledge of Food Microbiology, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Food
Allergens and Food Security. Technical knowledge of Food Science,
Specifications Development, Quality Standards, Quality Systems, Sensory
Evaluation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and related
laws and HACCP. 5 years of Management experience required.
Certifications in Food Science, Technology and/or HACCP required.
Must possess valid drivers license, be able to sit and stand for long
periods of time and must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the
